A life-long Charlottean, Scott has been providing financial services to business owners, key executives, and business advisors since 1988. A specialist in Business Continuity Planning. Executive Benefits, and Wealth Transfer Strategies, Scott has made a career of understanding the issues facing business owners, and incorporates that insight and client advocacy into every aspect of his service delivery and planning processes. He additionally emphasizes a team approach by proactively coordinating with other client advisors to help ensure that his clients’ financial affairs are properly integrated.

Sarah serves as Client Services Director at Scott Jones Financial where she is responsible for ensuring smooth service delivery to the firm’s clients as well as managing the company’s day-to-day business affairs.

She was previously the Executive Assistant and Client Service Representative responsible for servicing Scott Jones’ clients at Barry, Evans, Josephs & Snipes. Prior to that, she served as an Assistant at the Library of Congress and as a Manager of the Smart Road Control Room at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

As a Member Firm of ValMark Financial Group, we work closely with an experienced support team with credentials spanning multiple financial disciplines—from legal, accounting, tax and financial advisory expertise to life insurance and retirement planning. This team of over 100 professionals serves as our back-office support staff and includes:

TOM LOVE, CLU®, FLMI

LIFE INSURANCE ANALYST

Tom Love is Vice President of Insurance Analytics with our partner, ValMark Financial Group. In his role, he is responsible for advanced life insurance case design, carrier and product analysis, development of analytical and educational tools, agent training and agency business development.

Tom brings extensive experience in life insurance from Canada Life, Prudential, M Financial group and, most recently, Insuralytics Group. Tom is a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®) and Fellow of the Life Management Institute (FLMI). He has been published in industry publications such as Worth Magazine, Journal of Financial Services Professionals, and is a two-time Editor’s Choice Award Winner in Journal of Practical Estate Planning. He is a national presenter on topics ranging from Life Insurance Due Diligence to Reviewing and Evaluating the Family’s Life Insurance Holdings. In addition, he is co-author of Valmark’s Love Notes and author of several Valmark white papers. Tom earned his BBA in Risk Management & Insurance from the University of Georgia.

ERIC JOHNSON

SENIOR UNDERWRITER

Eric Johnson is the Vice President of Underwriting with our partner, ValMark Financial Group. In his role, he is responsible for the risk assessment appraisal, consultation, and negotiation of underwriting offers on behalf of our clients. He has over 25 years of experience in the underwriting industry and is a national speaker on topics such as challenging underwriting impairments and large face-amount policies. Eric previously served as Underwriting Director at ING and Underwriting Consultant at Minnesota Life where he specialized in impaired risk and large face amount life insurance policies.

CHRIS FINEFROCK, MBA, CFP®

FINANCIAL & RETIREMENT PLANNING SPECIALIST

Chris Finefrock is the Vice President of Financial Planning with our partner, ValMark Financial Group. In his role, he oversees and is a resource for the team responsible for all aspects of design and implementation of various insurance and advisory solutions intended to assist clients with risk management and reaching their retirement accumulation and/or distribution goals. Chris holds a BS degree in Financial Services and an MBA in Finance from The University of Akron. He is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™.

JAMIE HOCHMUTH

CASE MANAGER

Jamie Hochmuth is a Case Management and Concierge Services Specialist with our partner, Valmark Financial Group. In her role, she is responsible for coordinating and managing the life insurance application process between our clients and our life insurance company partners. In her role at Concierge Services, Jamie works directly with our clients to help expedite and streamline the paperwork involved in applying for a life insurance policy. Jamie graduated magna cum laude with a BA degree in Business Administration from Augustana College, Illinois.
